Using a mortar and pestle, crush the cinnamon, cloves, allspice and peppercorns as finely as you can. Don’t worry if it’s a bit of a chunky mix, it’ll still taste wonderful. Place your spice mix and ground coffee into a jar, put the lid back on and shake it up. Then brew it up like you would normal coffee. 

Vegan Peppermint Latte

Craving a light, minty option, then this is the Christmas coffee for you. This little puppy can be enjoyed both hot and cold and is wonderfully refreshing. This is truly a winning combination that will always hit the spot on any winter morning.

Ingredients: 

  • ¼ cup of almond milk, or your preferred plant-based milk
  • ¾ cup of coffee, brewed
  • 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon of peppermint extract
  • Your favourite plant-based whipped cream
  • 1 candy cane

Instructions:

Warm your plant-based milk in a saucepan, making sure it doesn’t boil. Then combine the coffee, cocoa and extract together in a festive mug. Then pour in the warm milk, top with some whipped cream and add the candy cane. If you’d rather enjoy it cold, then simply add some ice. 

Vegan Eggnog Latte

Extend National Eggnog Day to the next day, by enjoying this delectable beverage on Christmas day. Enjoy all the yummy flavours of eggnog, but vegan and also combined with your morning coffee. Sounds absolutely heavenly, doesn’t it? This may need a few extra steps but it is totally worth it, we promise!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of your favourite plant-based milk
  • ½ cup of coffee (Fazenda Sucuri Single Origin Brazilian Coffee is a good option)
  • 1 ½ tablespoon of coconut sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • A pinch of ground cloves
  • A splash of rum (optional)
  • Grated nutmeg for garnish

Instructions:

Pour the plant-based milk, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, rum, and cloves into a jar, put the lid on and shake well. Once you’ve done that, remove the lid then place the jar in the microwave for about 45 seconds. Do this a few times until the milk is hot. Brew your coffee and pour it into a mug, then pour the hot milk into the mug as well. Spoon the milk foam on top, sprinkle the grated nutmeg and enjoy!

life. This fragrant spice combined with the acidity of coffee and a little bit of honey makes for an amazing Christmas beverage that you will always want to start your day with.

Ingredients:

  • ¾ cup of hot plant-based milk
  • ¼ cup of strong coffee, brewed
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • ⅛ teaspoon of ground cardamom
  • ¼ teaspoon of vanilla extract 

Instructions:

Add the cardamom, vanilla extract and honey to a mug, then pour in the hot coffee and stir well. Carefully hold the mug at a 45˚ angle, pour in the hot milk and add some of the foam on top. All that’s left is to enjoy! 

Vegan Pumpkin Spice Latte

An absolute holiday staple, for many it isn’t Christmas without a PSL. Well with this handy recipe you can make your very own vegan version in the comfort of your own home. All you need is 6 simple ingredients and you will be able to enjoy this total Christmas classic.

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup of strong coffee, brewed
  • ½ cup of your preferred unsweetened vegan milk
  • 2 tablespoons of maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons of pumpkin puree
  • ½ teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice mix
  • Your favourite plant-based whipped cream

Instructions:

Put the pumpkin puree and maple syrup in a small pot, over a medium heat. Stir well and then add the spice mix and the plant-based milk. Do not bring it to a boil. Once it is warm, turn off the heat and pour in the coffee. If it isn’t sweet enough, add some more maple syrup. Pour it into a mug and add the vegan whipped cream.

Gingerbread Latte

Pair your gingerbread house with a mouth-watering gingerbread latte. A traditional Christmas treat in coffee form, this comforting, rich and warm drink is just what you want to curl up on the sofa with.

Ingredients:

  • 1½ cups of plant-based milk
  • ¾ cup of strong coffee (we recommend La Rotunda Single Origin Nicaraguan Coffee), brewed
  • 2 tablespoons of molasses
  • 2 teaspoons of sugar
  • 1½ teaspoons of ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon

Instructions:

Combine the coffee, spices, sugar and molasses in a jug and mix well, making sure that everything is dissolved. Pour the mixture into two mugs. Then heat up the vegan milk in a saucepan, making sure not to boil. Divide the milk into both mugs and enjoy. 

Vegan Salted Caramel Latte

This is a recipe that is sure to make your Christmas extra special. For any coffee drinker who also can’t get enough of the sweet and salty richness of caramel, just a sip of this beverage will have you absolutely hooked.

Ingredients:

  • 1½ cups of coffee, brewed
  • ¼ cup of low-fat, canned coconut milk
  • 2 pitted dates
  • 2 tablespoons of unsalted cashews
  • ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • A pinch of sea salt

Instructions:

Brew your coffee then add it and all of the other ingredients into a blender. Mix for about 30 seconds or until it is lovely and creamy. Pour into your favourite festive mug and enjoy.

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups of coffee, brewed
  • 1 tablespoon of coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon of ground cardamom
  • ⅛ cup of cashew milk

Instructions:

Place all of the ingredients in a blender and mix until well combined and frothy. Pour out into mugs and for a little extra flair, sprinkle some more ground cinnamon on top.

Apple cider is another delectable, holiday staple. If you can’t get enough of that spiced flavour, then why not be adventurous by trying out this little recipe? With super traditional, Christmas ingredients combined with your morning coffee, this beverage could become your go-to Christmas drink. 

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups of coffee, brewed
  • 2 cups of apple juice, warmed
  • 2 cups of plant-based milk, warmed
  • 3 tablespoons of honey
  • 1 tablespoon of pumpkin spice
  • 1 tablespoon of ground nutmeg
  • Your favourite plant-based whipped cream

Instructions:

Prepare your coffee as you would usually do, then warm the apple juice on the stove in a small saucepan. Add the pumpkin spice and honey to the apple juice and stir until they are mixed in well. Warm up the vegan milk in a separate saucepan. Then pour the coffee and apple juice into a mug, then top it up with the warm milk. Garnish with vegan whipped cream and ground nutmeg.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of your preferred vegan milk
  • ½ cup of coffee, brewed
  • 1-2 teaspoons of brown sugar
  • 4 cinnamon sticks

Instructions:

Pour the coffee into a mug and stir in the brown sugar until dissolved. Warm the vegan milk on the stove, being careful not to bring it to a boil. Add the cinnamon sticks to it and allow it to infuse for a few minutes. Then pour the cinnamon milk into the coffee. 

And you can make all of these festive coffees with decaf!
